Roster Moves – Week 15 – July 12th, 2012

FAAB Acquisitions:

  • MI Scott Moore, Astros ($2 bid, Add to Actives)
  • SP Ben Sheets, Braves ($1 bid, Reserve)
  • RP Juan Carlos Oviedo ($1 bid, Reserve)

Up:

  • C Devin Mesoraco

Down:

  • MI Elian Herrera

Cut:

  • SP Dallas Keuchel
  • SP Christian Friedrich
  • C Steve Clevenger

Notes:

  • Keuchel had been optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on July 5th.
  • Juan Carlos Oviedo, due to sketchy documentation and subsequent government crackdown, is the former Leo Nunez, closer for the Marlins for several seasons.
  • Longer week due to the All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO – the NL won 8-0, and MVP was Giants OF Melky Cabrera

Roster Moves – Week 13 – June 26th, 2012

FAAB Acquisitions:

  • SP Jake Westbrook, Cardinals ($2, add to actives)
  • SP Dallas Keuchel, Astros ($3, add to actives)

Up:

  • 3B Chris Johnson
  • SP Brad Lincoln

Down:

  • 3B Todd Frazier
  • SP Christian Friedrich
  • RP Jose Arredondo

Cut:

  • RP Josh Lindblom
  • RP Shawn Camp

Notes:

  • Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki underwent groin surgery on Wednesday, June 20th, and will be out up to 8 weeks (end of August). Tulo injured his groin during one of his final rehab appearances (hamstring) with Triple-A Colorado Springs.
  • Cardinals 1B Matt Adams was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Friday, June 22nd, where he will again play every day. Cardinals corner man Matt Carpenter returned from the DL, and with OF Jon Jay returning, 1B/2B/OF Allen Craig will likely take over primary 1B duties.
  • Cardinals SP Jake Westbrook rejoins the 2012 Roadrunners.  He was released on June 5th, and since has gone on a tear, so my mistake there. I bid $2 to get him back, and The Pi Train bid $1.
  • We were the only bidders on Houston SP Dallas Keuchel, who in two starts (14 innings) has a complete game, 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. Not many strikeouts, but we can use all the help we can get, and he’s at the Padres for his next start.
  • We lost the bidding for Pirates SP Kevin Correia, who has done well lately. RoadRunners bid $1, but The Pi Train got him for a $1 bid (I’m in 3rd place, he’s in 7th.)
